Marietta de Waard is a sworn, experienced and reliable translator, who specializes in translation and interpretation from and into Dutch, English, Russian and other Slavic languages.

Quality and reliability have always been her top priorities.  

During her more than 20 years of experience as a translator and interpreter she has worked for many institutions and enterprises in the Netherlands and is well-known for her expertise in translating legal, technical and scientific documents.

Marietta de Waard studied Slavic languages at the State University in Groningen; she graduated in 1978. She majored in Russian language and literature, and her minors were English and Serbian-Croatian.

A study period of 6 months at the State University in Moscow based on a grant from the Dutch Ministry of Education enabled her to further improve her skills in understanding, speaking and writing Russian.

English is a language that she learned as a child during a one-year stay in the United States. In addition, she recently lived for 6 months in Boston in the U.S., followed by a stay of 6 months in Cambridge in the U.K.

Marietta is a member of the Dutch Association of Translators and Interpreters, the NGTV.
